I'm back from another whirlwind Quilt Market! It was a lot of fun, as usual. Seeing all my quilty friends and all the beautiful fabrics and projects is a little bit surreal. But, now I'm back and it's back to business! Instead of doing one big Quilt Market roundup this time I'm going to tell you more about the lines of fabric closer to when they are ready to ship.
It has the same line-drawn feel as her last fabric line and again, really amazing color choices. Carolyn really is a talented artist. This line has a little bit of gold metallic ink on the Succulent prints to add an extra layer of texture and interest without going overboard. AND Carolyn has made SIX 108" wide backing fabrics to go along with the line! These are REALLY awesome! They are all the crosshatch print that you see in the bottom left of the photo above which means they are very versatile and can be used with a lot of other projects and not just with her line of fabric!
I was able to pick up some of Botanics early and I was really impressed with the selection of "low volume" prints in this line. This is great for creating secondary patterns in quilts. I decided to play around with the values in this line for the quilt I'm making. It's a traditional courthouse steps quilt using 2" strips that I cut on the Accuquilt.
We now have Botanics for PRESALE at Pink Castle Fabrics! This line will be shipped at the very end of November 2013. I am giving away a bundle from Quilt Market this week to one lucky winner! I have a Full Fat Quarter bundle for you!
