Glamp Stitchalot Teacher Feature: Latifah Saafir

In November 2016, we will welcome 200 guests to the Kensington Court to join us for a weekend of  classes and a whole lot of fun with a star studded team of teachers. At this Glamp Stitchalot event, each of our teachers will be teaching a unique technique for improv piecing in quilts.

This week, we feature Latifah Saafir. Latifah is known for her fearless approach to sewing curves and her boldly modern quilts. The Glam Clam quilt pattern (available as a free PDF download!) is a modern take on the clamshell shape. To get a feel for her teaching style, check out her Glam Clam tutorial on YouTube.

Here are a few great quilts of Latifah's (all images from her website, http://www.latifahsaafirstudios.com/):

Rocket 88

The Big Log
Play Around the World
Molehills
Convergence
First Kiss
Latifah has many new patterns in the works and an innovative clamshell ruler. I'm most excited to see the release of her line of patterns intended for children, appropriately titled "Quilt Cadets." You can see more of her quilts and patterns on her website, http://www.latifahsaafirstudios.com/.

For more information and to purchase tickets, check out the Stitchalot website.

See you next week for another Glamp Stitchalot Teacher Feature!
