Chocolatier BOM - June

Hi everyone!

Each month we will be sharing the current Chocolatier Block with you - we're grateful you've chosen to sew with us!

For all of the blocks in the Chocolatier quilt, we recommend pressing all seams open. Some of the pieces in these blocks can get small and pressing open can help reduce bulk when multiple seams collide.

June's blocks are called Card Trick and Bleeding Heart and uses half-square triangles and applique techniques. We'll be making one of each block.

First, we'll be making 4 HST. Make sure to square them up to 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"!

Next we'll make Hourglass units. Square them up to 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

The Triangle Units are made by sewing a Quarter Square Triangle to a Half Square Triangle.

Layout the squares and then sew them together. Now on to applique!

Use the template found inside the pattern and cut out the pieces.

Fuse template A to the block and then fold diagonally and finger press. This will help you place the next piece.

Blanket stitch around the caramel arc before placing the yellow tulips.

Finally, applique the tulip shape. Finished!

We're half way there!

When you've finished this month's blocks, hop on over to Instagram and show them off using the hashtags #chocolatiersampler and #PCFchocolatier - we love seeing what you make!

See you next month! - Kara
